Temecula Valley, located in the Southern California wine country, had a great 2012 grape harvest. The year began with a cool spring and early summer, which gave the grapes quality time to develop. While this resulted in a longer growing season for the grapes, the high heat in mid-August and early September led to a quick-paced harvesting across the valley. Overall, yields were slightly higher than forecasts—5-8 percent higher in some areas. Grape quality was really nice— fantastic color and strong flavor concentration providing a balanced juice.

After two vintages with some of the coolest temperatures on record, 2014 presented us with warm, consistent weather. The dry summer produced fruit of a rich full character in a perfect tension with acidity. The heat units allowed ever so slightly higher alcohol levels. This vintage rivals the 09' Pinots which are some of the best we've made to date.
